Note that this doesn’t affect file identification. Tracks of the same type will be sorted in the same order as their source files occur in the command-line arguments. Downloads zijn beschikbaar voor Windows, macOS en diverse Linux-distributies. MKVToolNix is een verzameling afzonderlijke commandline-tools, maar er wordt ook een grafische gebruikersinterface meegeleverd. Zo kunnen geluidssporen en ondertiteling worden toegevoegd, verwijderd of juist als standaard worden ingesteld. Met dit opensourceprogramma kunnen matroska-bestanden bekeken, bewerkt en worden geconverteerd.
